SAVVY Contemporary: The Laboratory of Form-Ideas – Dabke dance workshop
Dabke is a traditional folk dance originating in Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, and Iraq, known for its rhythmic stomping, line formations, and the sense of togetherness it inspires. This workshop, led by Lebanese designer / urban researcher based in Berlin Nancy Naser Al Deen, focuses on the Baalbeck styles of Dabke, guiding participants through basic steps and variations that embody resistance, celebration, and connection. By the end, a collective Dabke circle will come to life, sparking warmth and solidarity even as sunshine remains scarce.

INSIDE OUT!, presented by Berlin’s Exposed Collective, explores the boundaries between inner and outer worlds, identity, and perception through 32 thought-provoking photo and video works. The collective, known for fostering spaces of exchange and showcasing diverse, emerging voices, uses photography and film to challenge societal norms and inspire new perspectives. Curated by emerging talents Felicia Feith, Vanessa Alica Kunert, and Lula Bornhak, this free show opens on January 10 with a night of DJ sets and drinks – a perfect way to kick off the new year.
